What are interest tags?

Question

Answer

Like the tags you can add to your posts and assets, you can add interest tags to your profile to share the things that make you you. They are another way for you to learn more about other people and for them to learn more about you! You can also find new neighbors by searching interests, and they can find you the same way if you have added interest tags to your Profile.

Click Account at the top of any Vox page to go to your account settings. On that page under the heading 'Interest Tags' you'll see a text box. Type your interests in the text box, separating the interests with commas, and then click Save at the bottom of the page. For example, just type 'knitting, children's literature, football' if you'd like to add those three interests to your profile. There's no 'right' way in deciding how to word your interests, but we do have a couple of suggestions for you. When you're adding interest tags, think about things that would fit in the sentence 'I enjoy [interest tag here].' Also, a single word may be better than a longer phrase because it's more likely to be something that other people would use and search. If you do use longer phrases, then wording them to fit that suggested sentence is still a good idea.

Where do interest tags show?

Your interest tags can be seen on your Profile page. From your blog, you can click on 'View My Profile' under the 'About me' heading or 'Profile' in your blog's banner to see your profile. On your Profile page, you will see your interests under the heading 'Interests' under your biography.
